I'm a few years late but the flat worm that causes black spot cannot complete its life cycle in your aquarium. Fish are an intermediate species. The eggs are spread by bird droppings of birds that became infected by eating fish with the juvenile worms in their skin. So it is very easy to treat. Take the effected fish into a quarantine tank and treat with prazipro . If the damage is bad you may need to do a round of antibiotics first then a treatment of prazipro. This also supports your theory of these fish getting these parasites based on how they are raised in outdoor farms

I had pneumonia went away and then I had nitrites and nitrates and the nitrates went away for the most part there's a slight amount but I still have high nitrites despite prime and stability for eight straight days, 25% water changes. I just added some live plants and my nitrites came down a little but I was told that it will kill my fish unless I put stability in there to make it non-toxic for my fish. My question is... Do I use that everyday until my nitrites go away to protect the fish? I was hoping a more natural aquarium with live plants might help to stabilize things

I purchased a sunsun HW-3000 via Amazon from a company called "Finest-Filters". After only 8 months It failed during operation, destroying the aquarium cabinet and damaging the ceiling below, Finest-filters" sent a replacement O-ring but the filter still leaks and they are insisting that I pay to send it back to them to check and thus far have not indicated that any refund is due to me.

One thing I love that I've never seen anyone remark on: There are two oval shaped extrusions on the bottom of the lid. These match the oval shapedd holes in the bottom of the media basket. Take the lid off, turn upside down, then lift your media basket out and snap it into the lid. Now you habe a nice little carrying tray to take your media to the sink without dripping all over your floor!
